At least <strong>8 GB of GPU memory</strong>, with more recommended.</p> <p class="wp-block-paragraph">2. <strong>16–32 GB of RAM</strong>.</p> <p class="wp-block-paragraph">3. <strong>60–100 GB of free storage</strong>, including about 44 GB for the models.</p> <p class="wp-block-paragraph">4. At least <strong>8 CPU cores</strong>.</p> <p class="wp-block-paragraph">5. <strong>Python 3.12</strong> to run the miner.</p> <p class="wp-block-paragraph">6. An <strong>OpenRouter API key</strong> for the language models</p> <p class="wp-block-paragraph">The CPU is particularly important because AlphaRidge uses a <strong>named-entity recognition (NER)</strong> stage to identify companies, people, assets, and other entities in articles. More CPU cores can allow the miner to process articles faster.</p> <h2 class="wp-block-heading">How Mining Works</h2> <p class="wp-block-paragraph">The <strong>mining</strong> process starts <strong>when validators send</strong> your machine <strong>a batch of</strong> financial <strong>articles</strong>. Your <strong>miner</strong> then <strong>analyzes each</strong> article <strong>through AlphaRidge’s processing pipeline</strong> and <strong>sends</strong> the <strong>structured information</strong> back.</p> <p class="wp-block-paragraph"><strong>Validators</strong> do not need to manually check every article. Instead, they <strong>take a sample from the batch</strong> and independently <strong>run their</strong> own <strong>analysis</strong>.</p> <p class="wp-block-paragraph"><strong>If</strong> your <strong>sample meets</strong> the required <strong>accuracy threshold</strong>, the <strong>entire batch is accepted</strong> as verified work. <strong>If</strong> it <strong>fails</strong>, the <strong>batch earns nothing</strong>.</p> <p class="wp-block-paragraph">This creates two competing requirements: <strong>processing articles</strong> quickly enough to receive more work while <strong>keeping the output accurate</strong> enough to pass validation.</p> <h2 class="wp-block-heading">Getting Started</h2> <p class="wp-block-paragraph">The technical setup follows five main stages:</p> <p class="wp-block-paragraph">1. <strong>Prepare the machine:</strong> Install a suitable Linux environment with the required GPU, CPU, RAM, and storage.</p> <p class="wp-block-paragraph">2. <strong>Install AlphaRidge:</strong> Download the official AlphaRidge miner software and install its required dependencies. Register on SN45:</strong> Use your Bittensor wallet to register a miner on <strong>SN45</strong> and configure its hotkey.</p> <p class="wp-block-paragraph"><strong>5. Start processing:</strong> Launch the miner and wait for validators to assign article batches. Once work begins arriving, you can monitor processing speed, verified volume, and reputation through the AlphaRidge observatory.</p> <p class="wp-block-paragraph">If your machine is behind a network setup such as NAT (Network Address Translation) or nginx, additional configuration may be required so Bittensor can communicate with the miner correctly.</p> <h2 class="wp-block-heading">What Makes AlphaRidge Mining Different?</h2> <p class="wp-block-paragraph">AlphaRidge rewards a combination of <strong>computing capacity and analytical accuracy</strong>. A <strong>faster machine</strong> can <strong>process more articles</strong>, but speed does not help if the resulting data repeatedly fails validation. Likewise, highly accurate analysis has limited value if the miner processes too little content.</p> <p
